Kempsey Shire Council is located on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales and is known for genuine hospitality, its pristine beaches, sub-tropical rainforests, mountain ranges, rocky river gorges, sprawling farmland and peaceful villages.
Council is seeking to recruit an Engineering Cadet on a four-year cadetship to work within the Strategic and Asset Planning group. This is a great opportunity to embark in a career in Civil Engineering and gain valuable experience in a wide variety of interesting projects.
The cadet will be required to enrol in and complete the Associate Degree in Civil Engineering by correspondence and work full-time at Kempsey Shire Council for the duration of the cadetship. The conditions of employment and wages are in accordance with the Local Government Award.
During the cadetship you will receive time off for study and tutoring by experienced and qualified Civil Engineers. To be eligible you must have completed a Higher School Certificate with a high-level pass in mathematics (preferably 3 Unit). You must be eligible to be accepted into the Associate Degree in Engineering course at the University of Southern Queensland as a part-time student.
