The opportunity    

Reporting to the Water Operations Engineer, the Team Leader Water Maintenance will provide leadership and supervision to a team of maintenance operators in the maintenance of water supply and sewer network assets associated with water and sewer treatment and transfer infrastructure.  To be successful in this position, you should hold a diploma of engineering, or trade qualifications in Plumbing or similar, with a minimum of ten years' experience in the water, sewerage network infrastructure, construction and maintenance or relevant industry experience.  You should possess effective leadership skills; sound understanding of the Water Services Association Australia and other relevant codes; and hold a current Class C Drivers Licence and a WorkCover Construction Induction Card.

Key accountabilities

The tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and coordinating team activities for water and sewer network maintenance and/or construction works
  • Developing and delivering a responsive and planned maintenance work and repairs program of water and sewer network assets
  • Promoting and supporting an active team environment of multi-skilled team members
  • Reviewing and assessing operations, completed jobs and work methods with the maintenance teams to refine work practices and methods to provide more efficient and effective services
