The opportunity    

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Works Engineer to join our Infrastructure Delivery team to lead work teams primarily in the rehabilitation and maintenance of drainage, bridges, roads and associated infrastructure facilities.  The right person will have tertiary qualifications in engineering or project management or similar; have experience in engineering constructions; and possess exceptional project management skills.  Ideally, you will possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to lead and supervise staff.

Key accountabilities

The tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Providing engineering services in the construction, maintenance and operation of infrastructure and services, including roads, bridges, draining, flood mitigation works, paths and cycle ways
• Leading works teams responsible for road, bridge and associated infrastructure maintenance and renewals
• Project managing various construction projects
• Managing road rehabilitation programs
• Assisting in the development and implementation of asset management plans
